Position Overview
The Assistant Manager Internal Audit – Inventory Control is tasked with ensuring inventory accuracy through systematic stock audits, identifying discrepancies, and implementing recommendations to minimize losses. The role involves regular stock counts, data verification, and close collaboration with store and supply chain teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Inventory Audits: Conduct regular physical stock counts in warehouses, retail stores, or storage facilities.
- Data Verification: Compare physical inventory with system records to identify discrepancies.
- Discrepancy Resolution: Report missing, damaged, or excess items and follow up with store teams to address inconsistencies.
- Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate, detailed records of stock-taking activities, including dates, findings, and reports.
- Compliance: Ensure proper labeling, storage practices, and adherence to company policies and safety standards.
- Loss Prevention: Identify potential stock loss risks, such as theft or mismanagement, and provide actionable suggestions to minimize losses.
- Spot Checks: Perform random audits on high-value or frequently used stock items.
- Reporting: Generate comprehensive inventory reports, highlighting significant findings, trends, or concerns, and present them to management.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Certifications: CPA, CIA, or CISA certifications are preferred.
- Experience: 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in inventory auditing or control.
