Key Roles and Responsibilities

As a Systems Security Engineer, your primary role will be to safeguard the bank’s systems and networks. Your responsibilities will include:

• Security Implementation and Monitoring:
  • Plan, implement, and monitor robust security measures for systems and networks.
  • Identify and define specific security requirements.
• Infrastructure Security:
  • Configure and troubleshoot security devices and infrastructure.
  • Ensure systems and networks are current, patched, and securely configured.
• Risk Mitigation:
  • Conduct vulnerability scans to identify gaps in system security.
  • Collaborate with IT teams for assessments and remediation.
• Security Tools and Solutions:
  • Develop tools and solutions to address vulnerabilities.
  • Integrate security products and design solutions for secure networks.
• Documentation and Reporting:
  • Write detailed reports on security assessments and recommendations.
  • Develop metrics for secure configurations and data loss prevention.
• Research and Analysis:
  • Conduct research to analyze security weaknesses and recommend strategies.

Required Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following criteria:

• Educational Background:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or Engineering from an HEC-recognized institution.
• Professional Certifications:
  • Certifications like CompTIA Security+ or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) are preferred.
• Experience:
  • At least 2–3 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
• Technical Expertise:
  • Proficient in systems and network security, including operating systems (Windows/Linux), virtualization, Active Directory, firewalls, IDS/IPS, antivirus software, and authentication systems.
  • Hands-on experience with vulnerability scanning tools and security solutions.
• Core Competencies:
  • Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with IT and cross-functional teams.
