The National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (FAST-NUCES), Islamabad Campus, is hiring talented individuals for the positions of Research Assistant and Software Developer. These roles are part of an exciting research project titled, “Breast Cancer Detection from Whole-Slide Imaging Using Deep Learning”, under the Faculty Research Support Grant in collaboration with PIMS Hospital Islamabad.

This is a one-year project offering candidates an opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies while contributing to advancements in healthcare diagnostics.

Available Positions

1. Research Assistant (1 Position – Onsite, Full-Time)

• Qualification:
  • Minimum BS in a relevant field from an HEC-recognized university.
• Skills and Experience Required:
  • Expertise in Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Computer Vision/Image Processing.
  • Proficient in semantic segmentation/classification techniques.
  • Familiarity with vision libraries like OpenCV, TensorFlow, and Keras.
  • Experience in handling image data in various annotation formats.
  • Strong programming skills in Python.
  • Analytical, technical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication, writing, and office paperwork skills.
• Remuneration: PKR 59,000 per month.

2. Software Developer

• Qualification:
  • Minimum BS in a relevant field from an HEC-recognized university.
• Skills and Experience Required:
  • Strong experience in API development and front-end development using HTML, CSS, and React JS.
  • Knowledge of popular Python frameworks like Django, PyQT, or Tkinter.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
  • Experience with databases such as SQL or NoSQL.
  • Expertise in containerization tools like Docker or Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of PACS servers and debugging/testing skills.
  • Proficient in code versioning tools like GitHub.
  • Excellent technical, analytical, and communication skills.
• Remuneration: PKR 59,000 per month.
