Job Summary:
Dr. Ziauddin Hospital is looking for a Trainee Technologist to join their Clinical Laboratory team. This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about healthcare and want to gain hands-on experience in clinical laboratory procedures under the guidance of experienced professionals.
As a Trainee Technologist, your key responsibilities will include:
Assisting with Routine Technical Procedures:
You will work under the supervision of the Assistant/Staff Technologist to perform clinical/biochemical tests on a daily basis, adhering to laboratory protocols and policies to ensure the timely preparation of accurate reports.
Sample Handling & Processing:
You will verify that samples are collected, prepared, and processed according to the laboratory’s established protocols to ensure quality service.
Ensuring Compliance with Safety Regulations:
Implement and follow laboratory safety regulations to ensure personal and team safety while conducting tests.
Support for Training and Development:
Assist the In-charge/Supervisor in training other trainees and students as per the laboratory’s training protocols.
Control Testing:
Ensure that appropriate controls (positive & negative) are run with each test/batch, in accordance with laboratory policy.
Additional Duties:
Perform other related tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the In-charge/Supervisor.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
Good Knowledge of Laboratory Testing Procedures:
Familiarity with the procedures for clinical and biochemical testing is crucial.
Attention to Detail:
Ability to follow oral and written instructions precisely and to ensure the quality and accuracy of tests and reports.
Teamwork Skills:
Ability to work collaboratively with the laboratory team and assist with the development of new trainees and students.
Academic Qualification:
B.Sc. in Biological Sciences; M.Sc. is preferred.
Professional Qualification:
One-year training or diploma in Medical Technology.
Work Experience:
Ideally, 1 year of traineeship at Clinical Laboratories of Ziauddin University Hospital, or 2-3 years of relevant experience in a laboratory or hospital setting is preferred but not essential.
