Key Responsibilities
The Assistant Manager Procurement – Imports will play a critical role in managing the procurement of imported goods and services, ensuring a high standard of efficiency, safety, and compliance with the company’s SOPs and statutory regulations. Key accountabilities include:
- Effective Sourcing and Procurement:
- Lead procurement operations to fulfill business requirements, ensuring timely, safe, and compliant sourcing.
- Work to achieve OTIF (On Time In Full) procurement by collaborating with suppliers to secure cost-effective solutions and the latest market trends.
- Supplier and Vendor Relations:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, emphasizing value, innovation, and sustainability.
- Manage competitive supplier selection, and establish and maintain value-driven agreements aligned with commercial and legal requirements.
- Inventory and Contract Management:
- Ensure accurate inventory tracking within internal supply chain systems and ERP.
- Contribute to savings initiatives through negotiations and by identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Stakeholder Collaboration and Support:
- Collaborate closely with internal teams to understand their needs and offer optimized procurement solutions.
- Provide reliable support and guidance to ensure that procurement aligns with business objectives.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates should meet the following qualifications and demonstrate relevant skills:
- Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (BBA) or a Bachelor’s in Engineering (B.E.) in any discipline.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in procurement or a related field, preferably within a large manufacturing setup.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Familiarity with SAP MM Module and ARIBA is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of supplies and materials in technical, engineering, and manufacturing operations.
- Skills:
- Procurement and Negotiation Skills: Ability to manage vendor/supplier relationships and conduct competitive negotiations.
- Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, stakeholder management, organization, and time management.
- Proficiency in MS Office and basic ERP systems is essential.
