As the Assistant Manager – Paint Shop, you will be responsible for supervising daily operations of the paint booth, ensuring that production processes meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency. Your role will involve troubleshooting paint system issues, maintaining tools and equipment, and supporting the Paint Manager in coordinating overall operations. You will also lead the analysis and resolution of paint defects to achieve production targets and maintain consistent paint quality.
Supervise Paint Booth Operations: Oversee daily operations of the paint booth to ensure optimal quality and efficiency in the painting process.
Troubleshoot Paint System Issues: Monitor and address issues related to pumps, spray guns, paint mix room, and supply lines.
Maintenance & Calibration: Ensure the proper maintenance and calibration of all painting tools and equipment to maintain seamless operations.
Coordinate Operations: Assist the Paint Manager in planning, coordinating, and monitoring the paint shop operations to ensure smooth production flow.
Defect Resolution: Lead efforts to identify, analyze, and resolve paint-related defects, aiming to meet the DPU (Defects Per Unit) target.
8-10 years of experience, preferably in the auto industry (with a focus on major booths in automotive manufacturing).
Bachelor’s Degree or DAE (Diploma of Associate Engineering) in a related field.
Paint Process Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the paint process in an automotive manufacturing setting.
Lean Manufacturing & Kaizen: Experience with Lean manufacturing principles, 5S, and Kaizen methodology to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
Troubleshooting Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with paint systems and equipment.
Team Leadership: Ability to lead a team and ensure quality production standards are maintained.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to identify defects and implement corrective actions.
