Job Overview:

As the Assistant Manager – Accounting & Finance in the Outsourcing division at BDO, you will be responsible for overseeing the accounting operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and managing a team of professionals. You will play a key role in managing day-to-day operations and ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of financial reports for assigned clients.


Key Responsibilities:

As an Assistant Manager – Accounting & Finance, your main duties will include:

  • Accounting Management: Handle all accounting matters, including the preparation of financial statements, and ensure that financial operations at the Karachi office are running smoothly.

  • IFRS Knowledge Application: Utilize your fundamental knowledge of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) to ensure accurate financial reporting.

  • Taxation: Possess a basic understanding of withholding tax and sales tax regulations to ensure proper tax compliance.

  • Supervising Accounting Tasks: Oversee the daily operations of the outsourced accounts sub-department, supervise junior staff, and ensure the efficient execution of accounting tasks.

  • Financial Reporting: Ensure that month-end and year-end closing processes are completed accurately and in a timely manner for all assigned clients.

  • Team Supervision: Lead and manage a team, reviewing reports prepared by junior staff and providing necessary training and support for optimal performance.

  • Client Management: Maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring that all accounting matters are handled effectively and professionally.


Qualifications & Experience:

To be considered for this role, candidates should meet the following requirements:

  • Educational Qualification:

    • MBA/BBA in Finance

    • CFA/ACCA/ICMA (Preferred but not mandatory)

  • Experience:

    • 4-5 years of relevant experience in Accounting & Finance.

    • Previous experience in managing accounting operations, financial reporting, and client interaction within an outsourcing environment is preferred.

  • Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of IFRS standards.

    • Familiarity with withholding tax and sales tax regulations.

    • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.

    • Excellent communication, leadership, and team management skills.
