Key Responsibilities

As an Assistant Counselor, your role will involve:

Counseling Services

✔️ Providing individual and group counseling to students, faculty, and staff using a solution-focused approach.
✔️ Conducting initial assessments to determine intervention strategies and treatment plans.
✔️ Maintaining confidential case records in compliance with ethical and institutional policies.

Workshops & Mental Health Outreach

✔️ Organizing and delivering workshops on mental health awareness, stress management, and resilience building.
✔️ Supporting wellness initiatives and awareness campaigns to promote mental health on campus.

Crisis Intervention & Emergency Response

✔️ Responding to urgent mental health situations and providing immediate crisis intervention.
✔️ Participating in the Campus Crisis Response Team (CRT) to support students during critical incidents.
✔️ Assisting in tasks related to the Substance Use Control Program (SUCP) and other intervention programs.

Research & Data Collection

✔️ Assisting in mental health research projects, including data collection and analysis.
✔️ Contributing to surveys and reports to enhance mental health services and assess student needs.

Resource Development & Collaboration

✔️ Developing informational content such as brochures and online resources on mental health topics.
✔️ Collaborating with faculty, student services, and other departments to create a support network for students.

Professional Development

✔️ Engaging in ongoing training and workshops to stay updated on the latest counseling techniques.
✔️ Attending professional seminars and supervision sessions to enhance counseling skills.


Eligibility Criteria

✔️ Education:

  • MS in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from a reputable institution.

✔️ Experience:

  • 1-2 years of counseling experience, preferably with young adults in an educational setting.

✔️ Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong counseling and active listening skills.
  • Ability to handle crisis situations with empathy and professionalism.
  • Knowledge of mental health trends, therapies, and intervention techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with faculty and staff on student well-being initiatives.
