The General Manager – Technology for the Software Division will be responsible for overseeing the entire software development lifecycle. This includes planning, designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining complex software systems. The role requires a strong foundation in Java technologies, especially in Spring, Spring Boot, and modern JavaScript frameworks. The successful candidate will also ensure the company’s technology solutions are aligned with business goals and contribute to the development of scalable, high-performing, and secure applications.
This role will provide leadership in a collaborative environment, working with cross-functional teams to meet business needs and drive software development excellence. Additionally, the position offers the opportunity to manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocations effectively while working with external technology partners and vendors.
Strategy Development: Develop and execute software technology strategies aligned with the company’s business goals and objectives.
End-to-End Software Development: Lead the entire software development lifecycle— from planning and designing to deploying and maintaining robust software systems.
Java-based Architecture: Ensure the adoption and enforcement of Java-based architectures using Spring and Spring Boot, alongside modern front-end JavaScript frameworks.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with business teams to understand needs and translate them into scalable and effective technology solutions.
Emerging Technologies: Stay up to date with the latest trends in software development, particularly within the Java ecosystem and cloud-native architectures.
Team Leadership: Manage high-performing engineering teams, ensuring effective resource allocation and project timelines.
Performance & Security: Ensure high performance, security, and availability of applications, addressing any potential risks.
Compliance & Data Privacy: Oversee compliance with relevant data privacy laws and regulatory standards.
Vendor Relations: Build and maintain relationships with external vendors and technology partners to enhance project outcomes.
Continuous Improvement: Regularly review and improve development methodologies, tools, and standards to increase efficiency and quality.
Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
15+ years of software development experience, including 3+ years of recent hands-on experience in Java Stack (Spring, Spring Boot).
Proven expertise in full-stack development, including strong command over front-end technologies such as ReactJS, Angular, or VueJS.
In-depth knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, particularly MySQL.
Strong grasp of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and agile development methodologies.
Demonstrated success in leading high-performing engineering teams and delivering large-scale projects.
