The Lab Technician will be responsible for receiving, checking, and entering patient data related to tests, as well as ensuring proper specimen handling. The role involves working with laboratory protocols, processing samples, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring all tasks are completed promptly and according to the established standards.
Specimen Handling: Check the suitability of specimens and verify receipt through computer or manual logs daily, ensuring all samples meet laboratory requirements.
Data Entry: Accurately enter patient information and test details into the system daily, adhering to laboratory protocols.
Sample Processing: Inoculate, set up, and process samples in a timely manner as per laboratory guidelines.
Disposal of Samples: Discard or dispose of completed specimens according to the hospital’s sample retention policy.
Urgent Processing: Deliver stat slides and samples to the concerned technologist for urgent processing or results as required.
Intermediate (Inter-Science, Medical)
01-year Diploma in Medical Technology
Fresh to 2 years of clinical laboratory experience
Language Skills: Ability to comprehend, read, and write simple English.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accurate processing of tests and specimen handling.
Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team within the lab environment.
Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of basic laboratory processing equipment and understanding of sample processing procedures.
