Position Overview:

The Manager – IFRS 9 will be responsible for managing the company’s IFRS 9 Expected Credit Loss (ECL) production and ensuring compliance with IFRS 9 requirements. The role involves developing and enhancing credit risk models, performing model monitoring, and ensuring the timely production of quarterly reports. The Manager will also be responsible for improving reporting systems, ensuring accurate journal entries, and providing valuable analytical insights across the organization.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Quarterly IFRS 9 ECL Production:

    • Manage the quarterly production of IFRS 9 ECL reports.

    • Provide senior management with clear and actionable insights on credit risk and loss provisions.

  • Model Development and Enhancement:

    • Develop new ECL, Probability of Default (PD), and Loss Given Default (LGD) models to support product expansion.

    • Enhance and recalibrate existing IFRS 9 models to ensure accuracy and alignment with business needs.

  • Monitoring and Reporting:

    • Oversee the monitoring of credit risk models and improve the management information systems related to IFRS 9.

    • Ensure compliance with all reporting timelines and requirements for IFRS 9 journal entries and reconciliations.

  • Analytical Insights:

    • Present IFRS 9 knowledge and analytical insights to senior management and other key stakeholders within the organization.

    • Drive continuous improvement of risk management practices across the company.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Educational Requirements:

    • ACA, ACMA, or Master’s degree in Business, Data Science, Econometrics, or a related field.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in IFRS 9 and Credit Risk Modeling.

    • Experience in developing and enhancing credit risk models is highly desirable.

  • Age Limit:

    • The ideal candidate should be 40 years or younger.


Skills Required:

  • Technical Expertise:

    • In-depth knowledge of IFRS 9, credit risk modeling, ECL calculations, and regulatory compliance.

  • Analytical Skills:

    • Strong ability to analyze complex data and provide actionable insights to senior management.

  • Communication Skills:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present complex information clearly.

  • Time Management:

    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines, especially during reporting periods.
